How it started

Twenty plus years of the same questions…

When’s the bite?  When are the deer moving?  What time should we go out predator calling?

Long before there was an app, there were the two of us — Parker and his dad — in a UTV before sunrise, headed out to the Railroad Pasture or out into the Gulf to chase billfish or wahoo or catch snapper. And every single time, we were asking each other the same thing: when is the bite? Is the front going to push the deer? Will the rip turn while we’re still on the water? Could we have slept in a little later?

For years the answer lived in a dad’s hunch, a weather app, and a solunar app with a 1980’s UI. Sometimes we nailed it. Sometimes we sat in the cold for nothing. Over enough seasons, though, you start to see the pattern behind the luck — the way pressure, wind, moon, and tide line up on the days that turn out right. Then came AI and the ability for avid hunters and fishermen to use scientific data to develop real-world hunting and fishing algorithms.

Outdoor Prime is that pattern, becoming an algorithm and made honest. Made to evolve. Seven species, real science, and a score that shows its work — so the question we’ve been asking each other for twenty years finally has a scientific answer. We know it won’t be perfect, but we hope it’ll be helpful.
